Caroline Gayle Marcello is the 21-year-old daughter of Howard and Catherine Marcello. She graduated from Edward Douglas White Catholic High School in 2013 and is currently attending Nicholls State University, where she will graduate in May with a Mass Communications degree.
Caroline will reign as Queen Sugar LXXV and follow in her grandmothers footsteps. Dorothy B. Caillouet reigned as Queen Sugar V in 1947.
At Nicholls Caroline has received the Congressman Billy Tauzin Scholarship for Public Relations students and the Colonel Leaders and Scholars Award. She also works for the Nicholls Athletics department as a sports correspondent intern for the football, basketball, and baseball teams.
Caroline is excited to travel to various fairs and festivals throughout Louisiana and to the Washington D.C. Mardi Gras Ball promoting the Louisiana Sugar Cane Festival, Sugar Industry and farmers across the state.
